Point of sale

The server recomputes every ticket. The screen never sends a total.

Counter, floor or shop, on a tablet, phone or computer. Promotions, gift cards and loyalty points apply on their own. The terminal reads the card; the register trusts nothing else.

Counter, floor, shop

Table plan: open, transfer, merge, ask for the bill. “Served by” on every ticket. Sales put on hold.

Promotions and loyalty

Promotions, gift cards and points apply on their own. “Often bought with” suggestions.

Product options

Size, milk, syrup, doneness: options per product, with a “café” template set up in one click.

Tip on the terminal

Offered at the register or left on the terminal. It joins the day’s pool, split pro rata to hours.

The register session

A float, cash in, cash out, a variance.

Every session starts with a float and ends with a count. Cash withdrawals carry a reason. The variance shows up, signed by the person who closes.

  • Refunds full or partial, over several methods, with the refund to the card through the terminal.
  • Receipts by email or SMS, duplicate kept, printed slip for the kitchen or the bakehouse.
  • “Manage the register” capability checked by the server for the float, the expected amount, cash withdrawals and the Z.
Orders

In progress, for later, done.

Saving is not putting on hold. A “for later” order is dated, filed by day and section, editable until it is prepared, with a reminder to the trade customer.

  • Customer display on a tablet: the ticket is read face-on, the tip is chosen without anyone watching.
  • Kitchen displays: each item goes to its station, from the bar to the bakehouse.
  • Special orders: cakes and yule logs with a daily cap, reference photo, deposit and cancellation rules.
The fiscal ledger

Every Z is chained to the previous one. Nothing gets rewritten.

Closes go into a tamper-proof ledger: SHA-256 chaining, integrity check, public key, signed archive every month and every year. Québec, France, Spain.

The close

The day’s Z carries the fingerprint of the previous one. Changing a past line breaks the chain, and it shows.

The check

A public key lets an auditor verify the chain without access to the console.

The archive

Signed every month and every year, exportable, readable without Yoseri.

In Québec, restaurants, bars and cafés with on-site dining, as well as caterers, must use a MEV-WEB certified system. Yoseri has not obtained that certification yet. Retail shops, salons and take-out bakeries are not covered by this requirement.
Hardware

Nothing to install, nothing to buy to get started.

Terminals

Stripe Terminal with Interac, Square Terminal, Clover (Pay Display), Moneris Go. Connected in a few minutes from Settings.

Payments and hardware

Tap to Pay

The phone or tablet takes the card, no terminal. The native app is enough.

Printers and drawer

Epson ePOS-Print, Star WebPRNT, ESC/POS over USB or system printing, driven by the browser. The drawer opens through the printer.

Questions about the point of sale

Which payment terminal do I need?

The one you have, or none. Stripe Terminal with Interac, Square Terminal, Clover and Moneris Go connect in a few minutes. Tap to Pay turns a phone or tablet into a terminal, with the native app. A simulator lets you train the team without taking payments.

What happens if the connection drops?

Payments are idempotent: a ticket sent twice is charged once. The payment method and the card reference come from the terminal, never from the screen. An interrupted ticket stays on hold and picks up where it left off.

Is the Z close compliant?

Every close goes into a ledger chained by SHA-256, verifiable with a public key, archived and signed every month and every year. In Québec, restaurants with on-site dining also need a MEV-WEB certified system, a certification Yoseri has not obtained yet; retail shops, salons and take-out bakeries are not affected.

Can part of a ticket be refunded?

Yes, one item or one amount, over one or several payment methods, with the refund to the card through the terminal. A refund requires the “manage the register” capability and stays traced in the session.

What does a payment cost?

The Yoseri commission is 0.2% at the register and 0.5% online on the Yoseri Business plan, on the first $50,000 of the month per channel, then 0.1% and 0.25% beyond. It is added to Stripe fees. On Discovery: 0.5% and 1.5%.
